Nothing beats the morning light when you wait for your coffee to brew. ☕️ Hmmmm… been slowly getting used to an earlier yoga practice in my day. Not being a morning person makes this so much harder, but definitely so worth it to start the day with a smile. With presence. With focus. Gotta live your life right. Right for you that is ;)

Here is me thinking this would be easy and then my knee hit the hardwood floor. I realized the struggle. But as it always is, we try, we smile, we breathe, we give ourselves grace and before we know it we’ve kinda got it…
I call this the slinky crawler. Trust me when I say you need to pad your knee and warm up your fingers ;)

Can you just use your core strength to bring the hips up and over? 😜 For my non-yogi friends, this one is called ear pressure pose. Or Karnapidasana for Sanskrit. It’s the best way for me to turn the mind inward and shut out any sounds or noise to feel calm. 😏
To make the entrance more active, try to not use your hands but instead just use the core to slowly bring the hips up and past your shoulders. Give it a try!

This is a great transition to practice grace, kindness and generosity towards yourself. Go easy, don’t focus on what things should look like (I clearly don’t in my practice) and enjoy yourself :-)!
I started in downward facing dog. Although, some like to start with a side plank.
Then, step to half moon.
Lastly, lift to sugarcane!

Dancer pose is a chance for us to experience lightness in our endeavors. It helps us find a bit of ease when the inevitable storm hits in life. It’s a stable base and an open mind for whatever comes. And maybe, if we keep practicing it, we can approach this pose and anything else we find with a bit more grace.
And now give it a try!! This one, or any other variation… And don’t forget to embrace wobbling and feeling off balance. It’s how we learn. I’m literally always wobbling. :,)

Vasisthasana Side Plank Pose
Sorry about the gloomy weather :,). I went to bed so excited for the warm and sunny weather. A little upset when the sun wasn’t shining like I had hoped.
Okay, but try this pose! There are a lot of ways to modify your side plank. Some variations offer more support for beginners as you build strength.
