Today I was asked to remove one of my favorite sets of polaroids due to a man contacting a model a second time after she had already told him a month ago she wasn't interested in selling him more content. He purchased said content from me and sent it her way, making her feel very creeped out and upset. We are still on good terms luckily, which is a rarity in cases when people reach out of bounds like this. You have no idea how upsetting and stressful it can be for a model to get a DM talking about their images. Please respect boundaries!!! Said purchaser has been blocked, and the same fate will occur to you should I hear about it. Please consider their feelings, much love to all of you who already understand and respect this. I just want to revisit this issue periodically and remind everyone. There are many...many nights where I work into the wee hours of the morning. I started working this morning at 10AM, and until 9:45PM I worked with only a lunch break simply answering/replying to messages. Then I took a break to go get a pizza, and got back to work while eating. It's 3AM now and I am just now finishing a MASSIVE set featuring Coral | @akittenhasnoname that I know she is going to LOVE. But the reason I'm mentioning this is because I know after working the entire day, on you guys' end it looks like I've done nearly nothing (unless you were one of the people I replied to 😋) But I want you guys to know I have been doing TONS! Especially these last few weeks and ESPECIALLY this coming couple of weeks, I'm double booked on many days and booked every other day for the next two weeks. I'll be shooting and editing my brains out!! Anyway this WHOLE LONG MESSAGE just so I could share with you guys an early preview from the set I just finished, one of my favorite shots from it that I've been dying to share ever since I took it. A little Q&A for you guys - also today is WEDNESDAY! Which means update day on Patreon, woohoo! I recently was hanging out with Quinn and she could not stop talking about how beautiful Leah is, so that inspired me to put together a video featuring her from one of our earliest escapades! Attaching some previews of what's to come over there later today! - patreon.com/blackfoxlingerie Q: Were you photographing models before you designed lingerie? I had not messed with a camera since trying out blogging back before vlogging existed. My trips to the local pharmacy never gained much traction. Originally the plan was to do basic product photography, but then I felt I could probably grow my brand following by growing my photography skills, so I started doing portrait work on the side to learn everything I could about photography. I would go on to shoot with several portrait models as early lingerie models, it wasn’t until a couple years later that I transitioned fully into lingerie | nude photography. Q: Before you shoot a model, do you discuss boundaries, hers and yours? Not explicitly, if a model agrees to work with me very quickly I often will ask them if they have actually seen my pieces, as many people will assume lingerie means something very different from the type of product I create. There have been far too many occasions where an enthusiastic yes quickly becomes “I’ll think about it and let you know” once they actually look at my feed. Which I always find strange considering I contacted them through Instagram that they wouldn’t take a look before agreeing. Q: What are those boundaries? I generally just go by the rule “ask beforehand” if a certain shot seems “on the line” of basic comfort. So if I need to stand above the model I often ask if it’s going to be ok to stand above them. I typically ask a series of these kinds of questions throughout the shoot, such as if certain angles are ok, if closeups are fine, and so on. The more risque shots I’ll often ask several times for re-assurance to make sure I’m not pushing them into something they don’t want to do. I try my best to be conscious and considerate as I want everyone I work with to be happy with what we create! Q: Ever thought about doing more sexual photos (masturbation or something like that)? This is going to entirely depend upon the model. Some more experienced models who run their own onlyfans are going to be more likely to be ok with this type of material. I’m willing to shoot it as it’s fun to do something different, but taking pretty pictures and making badass videos is my primary joy in photography. Q: What's your design process/philosophy for your lingerie? Where do you draw inspiration? Do you have an intention for each piece? I have a certain love for symmetry and balance. Things don’t always need to be symmetrical, but if there is a certain type of design flourish, or overall geometry, I tend to try to match that throughout a piece. Basically my pieces are primarily designed to match as sets. Mixing and matching certainly works because I choose to stick to a certain set of materials and hardware though. I draw my inspiration from the models believe it or not. My method for designing a new piece involves taking a turntable set of images of a model - front, side, and back. Then I draw the design on top of those images using an iPad and the app “ProCreate”. The curves and differences in aesthetics encourage me to draw certain shapes and patterns which fit their body best. So technically each piece is intended for the model it was designed on. It just so happens that stretchy outfits tend to look nice on just about anyone :). Q: What has been a song recently where every time it comes up on shuffle you've been like "that's my JAM"? I’ve been all over the place lately and searching for new music, my most recent Jam’s have been “I Know the End” by Phoebe Bridgers and “Capsize” by Frenship, two diametrically opposed songs in style haha.
