So a little backstory: A long time ago a photographer I met while networking got right up in my face and started taking these aggressive portraits of me just in the middle of a regular conversation. It was a jarring experience but it made for some cool shots and I wanted to give it a try myself, not exactly the kind of shoot I could do with just anyone - but I've known Madison a long time now so I got the guts up and asked her if I could. Of course she's awesome so she was down. So if you want to be a part of the experience that is the joy of trying new things with wonderful people then be sure to check out this set!

After the fireworks we were headed back home when I noticed a nearby fire station that was available. Both of these locations were very public, the fire station was right in front of the road and a ton of cars went by! Luckily Quinn is a brave soul who was willing to get these shots with me. One of the many important lessons I have learned in life is that much like love, a great friend is hard to find. I've known Carissa ( @lilithlightworker ) for several years now, made plenty of incredible work with her, but all of that pales in comparison to how good it feels to have someone who truly cares about you. I often talk about my friends on here, being a photographer has introduced me to a lot of wonderful and sweet people. But there are few who stick around that are willing to talk to you through both the ups AND the downs, and just always be there when you need them. I really cannot express how wonderful it feels to be able to do something as simple as invite someone to your birthday, and then have them ACTUALLY show up. It all sounds so silly, but there are some points in life where that just matters a lot more than you might ever imagined it would have.
I wanted to tell you guys all of this because I want you to know that when I ask for your support for her, it's not because she asked me to or promised any sort of trade or anything like that. It's simply because I love her and I want her to feel the same love and support from you guys as you all have shown to me.
Apart from that though, she is an extremely talented photographer herself. I've always been enamored with her work, from before I even met her I was so super impressed. You should have heard my excitement one night on a car ride we took to get some taco's one night; just to get to talk about photography with someone who I feel ACTUALLY knows what they are doing. Someone who ACTUALLY takes the initiative to learn on their own and grow as an artist, rather than simply expecting others to teach them every in and out. Technical knowledge can be taught all day, but it's meaningless if you aren't willing to branch out and experiment and grow on your own. I've watched Carissa grow from a very good photographer, to an AMAZING one.

OH!! After all of that, I almost forgot to describe this set at all. Recently, due to some life changes, we found ourselves further apart than usual. So we chatted about doing a facetime shoot and within the day we made it happen! We worked together to build a direction for the shoot, all the while I took photos of my iPad with my camera. I thought it was a bit of a clever twist on what has become a common shoot style since the pandemic began. I did take a few screenshots, but I found that doing so ruined the image quality of the call for several seconds after each photo, so it was hard to get many good images that way; it wound up being lucky that I had the thought of setting up my real camera for the occasion or we likely wouldn't have come up with such awesome shots for us to share with you!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY BITCHES! Here's a free set to celebrate! - Featuring the talented Giulia who I'm hoping to shoot with again as soon as the pandemic ends! This is one of the first shoots that I ever felt truly talented on. I had a plan, I had a time limit, and I managed to recruit an amazing model through the most unlikely series of events; but I worked at it and made it happen! It all came together beautifully and she single handedly saved my entire vacation.
Also, turns out Amber Cross's bag was stolen when my window was smashed, resulting in around $500 of damages. So I'm going to throw a fundraiser on here for that, no obligation to donate; just figured I would let you all know in case you wanted to help!

It's time!! The premiere episode of Naked Resale is finally live and ready!
So a few things about this video:
This was largely shot as a test run. The setup, lighting, outfits, everything was pretty much just a test run to see how this will go. I've never filmed anything that needed sound included, or filmed anything on a tripod in it's entirety, or ever used a microphone outside of the one that is built into the camera. It was all a learning experience for me. But it was also a learning experience for Brianna, because she has never had a speaking part in front of the camera.
We were both incredibly nervous, and about halfway through we decided to get a little stoned to chill our nerves. Because of that though, I totally forgot to turn the mic back on when we started filming again; because it's an externally powered mic and it was plugged in, that means that no sound was captured whatsoever. Not even camera sound. So about halfway through her voice disappears, which is really disappointing considering how well she was doing and how well she was adapting to the situation. It went from barely being able to say anything to full on youtube star in minutes!
I know all of this LOOKS easy. I thought it looked easy, simple, fast to setup and film. But I was VERY wrong. In the end I think it would be easy to repeat if I were able to leave the set in one spot along with all of the equipment, camera settings, markers (yes we placed markers on the floor!) and more. But unfortunately my space also needs to serve as a photography studio, and I don't have enough extra equipment or space in my home to just leave it all set up like many youtubers do.
So in light of all of the problems, as well as the fact that it's a premiere and I want as many people to watch it as possible, I am going to make it super affordable.
So the idea here is to try on clothes much as a normal youtuber would in their try-on haul videos...but there may be a little extra to these than your usual try on's.

Today, I got to shoot with a new first timer named Quinn. She has such a natural beauty about her, a total woodland fairy...but also, that booty 🤣
She had a wonderful time and is a music junkie so I got to hear about a lot of new artists that I'm hoping will help me continue to expand my horizons! I cannot wait to shoot with this lovely woman again and I can't wait to share with you all the amazing pieces we made!
So in keeping with my whole "keep you guys up to date" more often fashion, I've been working on a concept for a new series entirely!!
It's going to be called "Naked Resale" and the idea behind it is to do try-on videos with a little extra SPICE. I'm hoping to collaborate with many people around the world, as well as film plenty of episodes on my own. I think it's exciting because the videos are actually going to include sound and you are going to finally get to hear some of your favorite models speaking!
I spent all day yesterday drawing a title logo and trying to get things figured out like colors and concepts etc. Here are a few of the drawings I did, along with what I wound up going with for my final product. Major thanks to my friend Emily for helping me with the artwork critique as I certainly had some trouble with a few of the letters 🙈.
