Day 4 Visited a blue ice cave at Vatnajökull glacier (Largest in Europe). This can only be reached by a special type of jeep. It was like being on another planet. Finished the day off at the only show in the world that makes real lava in front of you. It was so cool and hot!

Day 3 Visited a geyser and waterfall before having a terrific lunch at a tomato greenhouse. Finally was able to see the Northern Lights for the first time and stayed at a really cool tower air bnb.

Day 5 Lava Tunnel and Specialty Iceland Foods! Did a private excursion to a Lava tunnel. It was about a mile long each way of climbing and hiking. It was incredible. I had to wear a headlamp otherwise it was total darkness. Before this was operated by professionals a group of women had to be rescued here as it is dangerous. For a farewell dinner I was able to indulge in some unique Iceland dishes. Had whale two ways (Sushi and Roasted). Definitely enjoyed the sushi style more. The roasted whale reminded me of roast beef. Tried smoked puffin and an amazing wild sea bird which I want to go back to have again. As an extra bonus the Northern Lights showed up just when I got back to the hotel!

Day 6 Iceland Trip. Time to leave unfortunately. Finished up with the Sky Lagoon. Totally different experience than the Blue Lagoon. Here there is a 7 step ritual process. The cold plunge was freezing but I did it of course. It was below zero outside and you can see in the pictures a strand of my hair became frozen. Just dunked my head back in the lagoon to unfreeze. Its such a cool experience to be outside in the freezing cold and relax in the hot lagoon. Had a cool encounter with ducks at a gas station on the way to the airport.

Icelandic Skyr At the National Museum of Iceland, you can see three jars filled with what appears to be gray rocks. They’re a leftover meal of "skyr" from over a thousand years ago. "Skyr" is a traditional dairy product that resembles yogurt but is technically classified as cheese. When Vikings settled here, they brought with them the culinary traditions of their homeland. These Norse dishes have evolved differently in each country, with each nation having its own variation. But "skyr" seems to have vanished entirely in Scandinavia while flourishing in Iceland. Today, you can even find it on shelves of grocery stores around the world. The product is made by separating skim milk from the cream. The milk is then pasteurized, and live cultures from previous batches of "skyr" are added. When the product thickens, it’s filtered, and various flavors are added, like vanilla or berries and, more recently, mango, coconut, and even licorice.

Day 1 of my Iceland vacation! This country is beautiful. Went straight to the blue lagoon after trying Icelands famous hot dogs. Walked between two continents and had some rye bread ice cream (Only one restaurant in the world makes this)!
