I haven't decided if I want to decorate my office/stream room for xmas this year. I didn't for Halloween, but I was dealing with a lot (still am!) though my biggest goal is to get back to streaming this month. I *will* make it happen, I promise you that!

It's that xmas time of year again. Happy December 1st. I'm not sure what/if any challenge posts to do this month. I'm challenging myself to get back in shape and get back online streaming and I feel like that's a bigger challenge than I might be able to do so adding more challenges on top of that isn't the best idea.... anyway, ramble post off. Day 30: The Blacklist Man, this show WAS so good. James Spader as Raymond Reddington was AMAZING! But the show just kind of got ...stupid. The last 2-3 seasons I've watched because I had watched all the other seasons, and I was hoping for it to pick itself back up, but it seems they're pushing too hard to make something good when they've run out of ideas. Meh.

Day 28: Kill La Kill I love this anime so much! It's pretty much a parody, it's so ridiculous, but I love everything about it. A girl with sentient clothing tries to find her father's killer while fighting other students who also get their super powers from their clothing. Not one to take seriously, but just enjoy the ride - and enjoy it, I do. Immensely!

Day 27: The Sopranos I know a LOT of people were really mad at how the series ended, but honestly - I thought it was perfect! Just absolutely perfect. 👌👍 When you think about it, it really couldn't have ended any other way.

Day 25: Black Mirror, episode 1, the "pig incident" That's all I will say. While there are undoubtedly tons of memorable scenes for many reasons, this one stands out as not only disgusting and disturbing, but stupidly avoidable. (I never got into that show, it was just damned depressing, with people making stupid choices and ending up in bad situations because of those stupid decisions - just in sci-fi-fantasy environments) Anyway, it was gross and I can't unsee it.

Day 24: Connections (1979) What a cool and interesting miniseries. The show's subtitle - Alternative View of Change is pretty telling. Each episode begins with an event or an innovation of the past and traces that path from that event through a series of seemingly unrelated connections to a fundamental and essential aspect of the modern world (at least, modern at the time) Pretty cool when I watched it many, many years ago, even though it was dated AF then too.

Day 23: Lucifer This showed up in my recommended watch list on Netflix so I pressed play out of curiosity to see what it might be. I literally had no idea of genre or any background info, just the thumbnail that grabbed me. Anyway, the first 5 minutes where he's stopped by the police and that whole interaction... BAM! I was hooked! It's now officially over, and while there was a bit of a weird middle season, I felt it ended on a strong and satisfying note. Worth watching it all. In fact, I've rewatched the whole series recently, just before the release of the final season. Fun to re-watch too!

Day 22: Russian Doll This is the darkest groundhog day show ever, but SO compelling! It got uncomfortable at times, but I always found myself needing to know how things were going to resolve. It had a satisfying ending. I don't know if they're making another season or if it's just this one season, but I definitely recommend it if you're into dark comedy stuff.

Day 21: The Boys When this first came out I remember checking it out late at night because it was new and looked intriguing, but I didn't know anything about it - it was on a whim. Well, let me tell you, I had to keep watching it until I literally fell asleep because it was now 6 in the morning, and I had inadvertently stayed up all night watching it. As soon as I woke up later that day I watched the rest of it... It was that compelling and that binge worthy! Such a twisted and fucked up show! It was great!! I am eagerly awaiting Season 3!

Just a tiny health/me update: I feel like my body is straight-up rebelling against my ambitions! I SO DESPERATELY want to be able to stream again, but my health is just not good. I'm living off pepto bismol, it seems, just to keep the tummy issues at bay. Haven't been able to arrange for doctor visits yet, but it's my top priority. There were a couple of generous tippers this month which allowed me to get a depression treatment which I actually prioritized over physical medical care, and I'm SO glad I did. I'm frustrated, but not broken over it. I'm hopeful and still moving forward. <3

Day 20: The Good Place Man, this show was a surprise to me, in the best possible way. Clever and witty humor with just the right balance of silly to serious. (aka, not much serious, but enough to support those heartstring moments!) It also had a very satisfying series ending, that definitely made me cry, not out of sadness or grief, but out of appreciation. Best. Feeling. Ever! Semi-unrelated: One of the cosplays I have in the plans is Janet from The Good Place!

Day 19: The Simpsons The creativity in making the opening sequence dynamic means you actually sat through the intro, to find out what Lisa was playing on her sax, what Bart was writing on the chalkboard, and how the family would ultimately end up on the sofa... it was just brilliant. Worth the extra work in having to create extra stuff along with each episode, 100%!

Man, D&D last night was fun! I'm gonna have to wait to give you all the details until later today when I'm awake, as I'm so beat. We played pretty late just to 'finish combat' but even so we have to pick it up next week. So far, no player deaths, but they haven't encountered the Treants yet...and they're gonna!! 🥶😂
