**Melbourne Cup R7 Flemington**

A open edition of the great race and it isnt easy to pick the winner as usual!
There is a few horses I like here, firstly an international raider I like is Without a Flight (6), an experienced horse who has travelling to other countries before and run well which removes doubt about how the horse has travelled, winner over 2800 and looks suited to this trip. A downside is the barrier which is 18 I think they will test their luck and try find a spot in running, would not be the end of the world if they decided to go back but he is better off going forward to my eye. Wet track winner so the conditions should not worry him.
Realm of Flowers (24) a horse I was all over for last years cup before she got hurt gets her crack at the race, her 3 lead up runs have been super especially last start being stuck 3 wide over 2400m and only being beat 0.5L, she loves a wet track and from the barrier she will have a perfect run, the query is 3 weeks between runs and only 4th up how fit she is.
There is still alot of chances outside of them, Gold Trip, Duias, Knights Order, Montefillia, Deauville Legend, Vow and Declare, Yung Werther, Hoo Ya Mal, Emissary, Lunar Flare, Smoking Romans, Interperdation all wouldnt surprise, yep thats alot of numbers I will put some exotics below.

R1: Open 3yo race this and Chris Waller holds a great record in it and think his progressive colt Pungo can bolster that, super fresh win so much scope to improve, Gate 1, Jmac. Tick and Tick.
**No.12 $3.30 1U Win**
*Top 4: 12-2-1-7*
R2: With the suspected heavy track, Realm of Flowers looks hard to beat she may scratch here to run in the Cup but if she runs here ill be on. Wide draw didnt hinder her last start just losing in The Metropolitan 3 wide the trip hopefully she can find a spot this time.
**No.7 $4.80 1U Win**
*Top 4: 7-8-10-1*
R3: Tricky race two at odds for me, The Astrologist backs up from last weeks group 1 which will have him rock hard fit, first two runs this prep were ok here but looks set to peak here and will give a sight. Curran may be the most unlucky horse in the state, down the straight it becomes easier to get a clear run and he will steam home.
**No.1 $12/$3.60 0.25U Win 0.75U Place & No.12 $12/$3.60 0.25U Win 0.75U Place**
*Top 4: 12-1-8-6*
R4: May see a few of these fillies back up into the oaks on Thursday and one I think could do so is So Dazzling, she won super here 2 starts ago and was unlucky last start and will eat up the 2000m, Damien Oliver has been out of form and wil be trying his hardest here.
**No.3 $8/$2.80 0.25U Win 1.25U Place**
*Top 4: 3-8-1-10*
R5: Tuurath looks very hard to beat here carried significant weight last start and won very well and looks to map better then any horse here just off the pace, assuming she gets a clear run in the straight hard to argue against her here one of the worlds best jockeys William Buick on is also a big plus.
**No.7 $3.60 1U Win**
*Top 4: 7-15-8-1*
R6: The first group one here is for the 3yos, this race is full of value in my eyes, Lofty Strike was returning off a long break last start on a testing track and just peaked late which he was inclined to do, he is a winner at the track already and I think is over the odds. Economics won very easily first up, was scratched at the gates second up but his recent jumpout down this course was very impressive, we havent seen the best of the horse and I think he can run a race.
**No.4 $23/$5 0.25U Win 0.75U Place & No.8 $13/$3.80 0.25U Win 0.75U Place**
*Top 4: 4-8-15-6*
R7: The feature race the derby and it looks to be one of the better editions in recent years, since drawing a wide gate Mr Maestro has drifted and I am happy to stick with him as I dont see any reason not too and put faith in Damien Lane to give him a decent run. Runs like he will and he is bred to handle this distance, wet track no worries!
**No.4 $7/$2.40 0.25U Win 1.25U Place**

R8: The final group one is for the fillies and mares and this race also looks to have some value, Yearnings first up run was elite, second up she was a bit plain but happy to assume she was looking for further, nice jumpout between runs and the barrier ensures she will be able to have clear running. I have always rated Daises as a horse and all her runs have been good this prep, she will get a nice run from barrier 3 and happy to have something on her at the odds also.

Well as soon as the open races of the card cleared we got a winner then the rest were abandoned last night which is annoying, we go again here with the best race of the year apart of it.
R1: A 2yo race with all horses on debut, not a good betting proposition with so many unknowns, Sailors Rums has won both jumpouts leading, he can follow the rail all the way here.
**No.5 $3**
R2: This has got to be one of the most heavily contested leads for a race on paper I have ever seen there are 5 out and out leaders here which suggest maybe a horse off the pace can run over the top, Scissor Step maps to do just that and has jumped out well for his return, he was only beaten 0.5L in a Group race at this track a year ago...
**No. $6.50/$2.40**
R3: Shalailed was good last start and maps for a good run on speed here. If the breaks come his way expect he will be infront down the straight and hard to run down.
**No.6 $4**
R4: Willinga Beast brings superior NSW form lines to this race, been beaten by Best of Bordeaux and Zougotcha who both would be winx odds in this race, from barrier 7 suspect he will be midfield in the running line attacking the line very hard.
**No.3 $3.80**
R5: Do It La maps to lead here and looks extremely hard to run down, was very good last start and her run first up at this track was enormous, she looks one of the better bets of the card if she finds the lead easily here.
**No.2 $3.50**
R6: Visinari maps to get the absolute perfect run 1 out 1 back on the speed map here, her first up win was good lacking race fitness she held on just, with further improvement and a nicer run she will be prominent again.
**No.7 $5**
R7: Foujita San and Berendino both horses who will lap up this distance and are nice odds to have a look. Foujita Sans late work in the Guineas was very nice and maps to not be too far off the speed. Berendino was good behind the derby favourite last start and will be steaming home.

R1: Ocean Miss is my on top selection here in a very open race, think she can find the lead pretty easily here which is no disadvantage, forgiving her last run on a very tricky Caufield track her form prior suggests she is up to winning a race like this.
**No.4 $4.50/$2.20 (NTD)**
R2: Despite this race being a fairly small field I suspect there will be a decent pace set, 1,3,6 are the swoopers here and it hasnt been easy to pick one but have decided on Regardsmare who drops in class here and was a very good 3rd in this race last year. Nash Rawiller down from Sydney and is booked and think he can swoop them late.
**No.3 $5.50/$2.50 (NTD)**
R3: Another tough open race but I think Legend of Zoro presents some value, he lugged 66kg 🤯 first up and was good, he has a good 2nd up record and his only run at this track was also good. He will sit back and fly home late. The downside is he doesnt want the track too wet.
**No.2 $8.50/$2.60**
R4: The open theme of races here continues, Zourata won as he liked on debut and looks a progressive horse, hoping he gets a nice run on the speed and think he can run well here.
**No.8 $6/$2.20**
R5: A tricky 955m race and as you would expect alot of speed here, tried to find a horse that maps to sit just behind the speed and landed on Direct, he has always shown talent and maybe a confidence boosting win first up will help him to show it. Placed every run at this track also.
**No.2 $6.50/$2.40**
R6: Shibli was an unlucky run first up, his last 2 second up runs have been good and expect the same here, Jmac hops on and from a good barrier think he will settle midfield and be prominent as they turn for home.
**No.4 $5.50/$2.20**
