One thing I really loved about this place, was the determination of the guy who build it!
Beginning of the 20th century there was not much up here and this guy just decided to build a castle! And because there was no electricity here yet, he just build his own hydro-powerplant at the waterfall next to the castle!!

Nothing better than to climb onto these old ruins!
The sad part is, after this Spanish dreamer, had build this place, it got flooded a few times, being in the northern part of Queensland, this just happens.
But sadly the sand he used for for the concrete had a high concentration of mica.
This and this wet environment caused the concrete to fall apart quite quickly and so today lots of the buildings are missing walls and roofs.😥
It is still a beautiful place to visit!💕

Something I noticed while sorting through the pictures and videos of this shoot was, that my eye colour changes/looks different depending on the background or light.
At the ocean I feel it is a more turquoise and here it has a slight greenish tint, just like the bamboo!
