This build means a lot to me so being generous :)*** HyperMarquee. What is it? Well for every Mame Game, you could have a Marquee (the thing at the top of the arcade machine) that would change depending on the game. You play Donkey Kong, the screen shows up the Donkey Kong marquee, etc. I would be ALL for it...if I was making a traditional cab. Which I'm not. This image shows the shape I'm going with. It will be slightly different, but it will have a more modern look with a bigger screen (and slightly different dimensions). But still, you get my point. The HyperMarquee would be on the panel where you see the Alterniverse logo. I'd say yes as I want to play Golden Tee, Crystal Castle, Capcom bowling, Centipede, etc. Btw have you seen that they made a new Centipede 4K in 2021? Did the world really need that? Tron uses it but I already have a Tron machine that I freaking love and won't get rid of (My spinner broke this week though - waiting on a replacement lol) Other than that....Arkanoids and Pong use it but I'm not sure I really want to play those games. And it seems to be taking real estate on the control panel for no good reason. Do you know any good Spinner games? Yeah...I'm voting no. It's not worth it. And now, the REAL question. I've got room for lighted cup holders on my control panel. It doesn't seem too cramped and fits perfectly. I'm debating if it's a good idea or not. Bad idea = drinks on a control panel? Asking for trouble! Good idea = With space on the control panel, people might put their drinks there anyway (people aren't always cautious). With a cup holder, at least, it adds some protection. Plus it looks cool. So....what would you do?

It's extra work (lots of wiring work) and costs a few extra bucks (you need a board, and more wires lol). But it's something that if wired correctly, once you pick a game, the appropriate buttons used will light up. Is it worth the trouble though? Most games are 1-2-3 buttons. Is it easier to explain it and save on the cost? BUT at the same time, it makes it more kids friendly and friends friendly! They get to know exactly which buttons to press. But are they that retarded that they can't try 6 different buttons? At the same time, it's a pretty cool feature...you don't have the original control layout of each game, but you can at least get them lighted the right way... Would you go with LED Blinky, or not?

People told me "you'll never have 4 people playing other than at a few parties or on select occasions" My answer: Yes, but I got a big ass table for when I host dinners once or twice a year and I sit alone most of the time. I still like having the option, lol so this isn't a question. More of a statement LOL First dilemma. Player 1 and Player 2: Usually, it would be 6 buttons. No arcade games back in the day had more than 6 buttons. But nowadays, they have a lot of PC arcade remakes, and YES, I will have those on my build. I have a crazy graphic card and over 40 terabytes of memory. And it will all work through Hyperspin. Anyhow, like the new turtles game released a few days ago, saw it? It can use up to 7-8 buttons. Street Fighter 5 uses 8. Street of Rage 4 as well. But I always played arcade because it was easy. It doesn't take a PHD before playing. Anyone can pick it up really fast. Is it me or 8 buttons is just too complicated at that point? Should I stick to 6 buttons and just forget about those newest games using more buttons? Or should I add 2 buttons to make it 8, be able to play those few select games, make the cabinet a bit more future proof, but 99% of the time, I'll have 2 extra buttons completely useless just laying there like little bitches. And 8 buttons makes the control panel look a bit more "cluttered". Purists say stick to 6. New gen of gamers say go to 8 silly. :) What should I do?

***A Little Background regarding my new Arcade Hobby*** I used to love arcades back in the days. I remember summer weeks when I'd go down to the US on vacation with my parents or friends. I could spend evenings playing in some arcades whenever I'd find one. Then, I stopped...for a few years, like 15 LOL My interest mostly started back in 2020. I went through a "dark" year. Battling a few demons of my own, got some hard friendships ending, lockdown, just not being me. I got a PacMan machine and NBA Jam one for the sake of it, because I was having a few drinks and found them online, for a cheap discount price. It sat there forever, untouched. Then a few months after trying to get out of my bad mental state, I started getting interested in the hobby. Found a few people interested in those kinds of content and stream. And got really into it. Reminded me of simple times. Of fun times. Where life was so simple. Not only life but even gaming. It's 3 buttons. 1 joystick. You play right away. Don't have to have a PhD to learn the basics or controls like those new games on new consoles. You got 10 minutes? You can have fun in 10 minutes! Playing arcade brings me joy. So whenever I have free time, instead of having a drink or just binge-watching something, I might start working on a machine to try to upgrade it, making a few modifications. I want to make my basement somewhere I can go, shut off my brain, and be happy. My little bubble of happiness. I can spend an hour on two sometimes at night just tweaking a few things. When my friends come with their offsprings... I see them playing with games that were made in the 90s, and they have fun. It makes me smile. Sometimes, just walking through the machines makes me happy. In my quest to bring more games and more gaming content, I'm trying to build an ultimate machine now. I will probably share with you guys a few details about it in the next few days. Stay tuned :)
