A bumper post today of me playing in very cold water a long time ago. This was taken on the beach at Yzerfontein. For a long time this little beach town was going to be my retirement town. I don't think that this will happen😔. Oh, well...😄

A warm summer's day on the nature reserve close to us. I love the sun trying to break through the leaves. The green color is just amazing and the red dress is a nice contrast to the green. It is autumn now and we have to go again to get the fall colors of the trees.

💙CROSS THE BRIDGE😰
We were traveling from out camp site in the Cederberg mountains to Hondeklipbaai. Along the route we discovered this bridge across the Doringrivier (Thorn river), just south of the little town of Klaver in the Western Cape. There was also an old wreck of a car lying under the bridge. This was also a very eventfull day.
We carefully planed a route to our destination. Much of the drive would have been on a gravel road, right next to the sea. However, the road was very bad and I mean, very bad. The biggest corrugations we've ever seen. This made the going very slow. The road was rattling our little car and ourselves into pieces. My kidney were sore, my liver was shaken into a mush, my intenstines shaked themselves into knots and boobs were shaken into milkshakes...silicon flavour milkshakes🤣🤣🤣.
Late in the afternoon we realized we were not going to make it on fuel. We were burning more fuel than expected. With sadness we realized we were not going to make Hondeklipbaai. We diverted to a town named Garies for fuel and after refueling it was late in the afternoon. We could not find any camping spots in Garies. The closest one was in Kammieskroon, 50 kilometers to the north😯. We arrived just before sunset in Kammieskroon, where we spend a very dark night because the camp site had no lights.
A last note of this partucular day. Our inflatable matrass started to deflate during the night. I woke during the night sleeping on the hard ground. We had to re-inflate the matrass, only to wake a few hours later on the ground again. This went on the whole night...It must have been a Monday😂😂😂!

PAARL MOUNTAIN
My husband loved to take photos on Paarl Mountain. So much that I started dreading the words: "Let got to Paarl Mountain today". And the irony of it is that today, I miss the mountain. Here is a bit of history about the mountain.
Centuries ago, the rocks on the mountain served as landmarks for nomadic Khoikhoi who knew them as Tortoise Mountain. Today we know it as Paarl mountain, (Pearl Mountain). The mountain is known for its three enormous granite rocks known as Paarl Rock, Bretagne and Gordon Rocks, and is the second-largest granite outcrop in the world (after Uluru in Australia). There are 3 dams on the mountain too – The Victoria, Nantes and Bethel dams. Paarl Mountain was declared a national monument in 1963, and in 1977 it was also declared a Nature Reserve.

Someone said to me that boobs look so much better close to water. My husband will disagree. He will say: "Boobs always look amazing!". In any case, that made me think of these phots.
This is in the Mac Mac river just downstream of the Forest Falls. The water is clear, cool and so nice to relax in on a warm day. After this shoot we just sat there in the water, having an ice cold beer.

I was just browsing for something about ruins when I found this song. It is a very deep and powerful song. I extracted some of the lyrics that I thought would go well with the photos for today.
This is a ruin close to where I grew up. When we first discovered this ruin, it didn't look as bad as this. During the years some vandals have tried to break it down. They probably gave up because it is an old building that is still sturdily build. It has been set on fire, it has been used by squatters, it has been cleaned up and the it got dirty again. But it does make for some good photos.
Today I tried something different with every photo. Let me know which one you like the most.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Some of you are still having weekend and I'm so jealous. I had a great weekend. We had friends that visited on Saturday and today we just relaxed.

So today is something a bit different. I have been asked for some "feet" photos, so I've put some dedicated feet photos in this set.
The last photo is the "crowd" that was watching the photoshoot. The warthog mum and her kids were playing in a pool just behind the photographer. The dad was also around. The warthog was keeping a keen eye on us and I was keeping an eye on her. I did want to warn my husband in mum decides to attack him.

A subscriber requested that I do an "office" shoot. We've never done anything like that before, so after a bit of planning, thinking and organising we converted our garage into an office. It was hard word, I have to admit. We had to arrange furniture, carry things all over the place. Our living room looked like we were moving.
But we got it done. Our last shoot was "casual Friday" and that is the photos I'm posting today. We also did shoots with other clothes and I will post them soon. I promise I do show a lot of leg in these other shoots...but not today😟.

2002 - 2005
As some of you know, we started taking photos in the house. This was the time before we discovered nature as a studio. We used all rooms of the house, even went as far as building our own studio with lights and all in some rooms.
We bought high intensity lights that were so hot you could fry an egg on them. We hung backdrops from the walls that were mostly duvet covers and bed linen. We used anything we could find, even draped blankets over the couches. Even when the bathroom was being renovated, we took that as an opportunity to take photos.
The only problem with this setup was that we had to wait for the kids to go to school or to bed to engage in our hobby. It was a slow beginning. My husband had to learn about photography and I had to learn how to pose. But all in all it was great fun.

These photos are memorable because it was the coldest⛄ night we've experienced in a long time. We were camping in Wakkerstroom in the middle of winter, in a little blue tent (Stupid, I know😅). I think we would have frozen if it was not for one lucky break...we stopped and bought a heated blanked that same morning🍀. We were scrunched up on the little single bed heated blanked! Frost covered everything the next morning. And then! To top it off, I had to stand in the windy, cold morning with my breast exposed. It was bloody cold🥶! Do you see how I suffer for your visual enjoyment! 😂😂😂
