~ CONFESSION #2 ~
So like, for the past 🤔 we’ll call it 3(?) months, the house has been a MESS MESS. Been updating right, literally too many projects going at once. When I moved in 2 years ago we painted the living walls & ceiling accents, and painted the trim. Fast forward ok, I think 😬 it started with the garage door not working properly. So we couldn’t afford a new one lol (I never knew how goddamn fucking expensive just a new garage door was until a couple months ago… I'm 25.) But, yay for me, I live with a carpenter and im an apprentice. 🫣 you see where this is going???
One day I go out to the garage and it’s about to have metal saw put to it 😱😳 I said “WAIT WTF??? Why, we don’t have a new one built or planned or anything..” response was “well it’s gotta come down tho right?”
Back on track here… inside right ~ the washer & dryer are in the dining room. That’s how it was when it was bought. (6 years ago) The house is ancient tho, like idk how many ppl have died here… so, 1 window removal, add studs, drywall, mud, and paint later we have a “laundry closet”. Dining room~ ripped up the old nasty floor, base, & shoe! Put down new flooring and base, painted only 3 times. (Couldn’t decide on a color) office ~ still not done, first we took out a window & the brick chimney mainly with a hammer drill lol, (so much fun to wake up to that) what a mess… didn’t know what to do with the brick so it got tossed out the window for now into the backyard snow 😹, took off the base & shoe, & took down the closet walls. Made a new closet, new flooring, base, casing, like 10 or so 5gal buckets of mud later… (ceiling was cracked, now in the wall, filling in chimney, creating new closet, etc.) painted now 2-3 times. 2 colour changes. But it’s still being sanded so will need more paint… 😾 then. Now. The ceiling wasn’t good enough. So we sheetrocked over the existing. Lol. Now muding & sanding that currently. Theres a giant window but that’s gotta be taken out cuz ya know we don’t like ppl to see in lololol. Oh and! Took out the doorway, made it bigger- for a barn door or French doors.
Yes we are making the barn door. Made one for the laundry room too. We also opened the doorway to the kitchen from the dining room so we could turn the fridge lol.
The front porch~ what was there for walls, white siding. Hung drywall over that. Started mudding, now it’s not being worked on 😹 pressed hold there. It needs a lot of work.
Upstairs had already been redone when I moved in.. it was 1 giant room turned into 2. But now thinking of tearing down the wall that was put up lol. But cut out the closet wall to make the entryway bigger and now building the shelves/drawers n whatever ourselves. In the process, a makeup vanity from scratch in the corner for me 😻 painted the walls and ceiling. Oh! There used to be 2 doors coming in from the front porch. Took 1 out and filled that in, painted the hallway and stairwell walls there. Sanded down the skirt board and repainted it, added new decorative thing to it lol. But… the stairs need to be torn out and redone ASAP. There’s 1 broken step that has everyone who comes over sliding on the butt down the steps like a slip n slide 😹 “bump bump bump bump bump crash owwwwch!” - they’re too steep as well. Like the math for rise over run shit that I don’t care to understand 🤫 isn’t legal or compliant or up to the new standard? So that’ll be fun. And the kitchen… oh my fuck. The ppl that lived here… put CARPET down! What the actual fuck right ? Who does that. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ no dishwasher either and it’s just gotta be damn hear started from scratch. Need all new cabinets, ceiling, floor, etc. the back porch is like falling to pieces 😅 but that’s where the trap door to hog ears basement is. 🤣 and also I’m the one who gets to play with the electrical wiring all over to switch to LED lights. Partly done…. I can’t figure out some of these old ass wiring hacky shit that’s going on in this place. 🧐😟 only been zapped a handful of times now.
Also, y’all know dude I live with is on one like 99% of the days. So I’ve been “kicked out” more times than I could even try to count in the last few months. (I actually did move out 1 time into Eli’s house, but then sadly he passed away.) and, I have literally no where else to go or any family that wants to/will/is able to help. 🙃 yaaaay 🥹 so I live out of 2 suitcases & 2-3 laundry baskets in the dining & living room / sometimes they’re in my car, and I do ALL of the cleaning, chores, shopping, you name it. Take care of the 3 dogs the whole nine yards. But also I don’t get paid, ever, at all. I don’t have any paperwork for the company I work with. I got $75 for the past like 2 months of work on the garage. It’s a 22k job. Things are going gr8 guys. 🤯😤🤥🤥🤥
