Kings traveled this route for ceremonial journeys to confirm their legitimacy. The road, part of the infrastructure before Sweden unified, shaped the cultural landscape. Chasing light and laughter by the Hästholmen lighthouse on the shores of Vättern!
Fun fact,
The lighthouse was built in 1897. A railway spur was added to the harbor. The steamship Trafik, built in 1898, ran regular trips between Hjo and Hästholmen with cargo, livestock, and passengers until the 1950s. In 1918, the steamship Per Brahe sank near Hästholmen harbor. 📖
