The Negative Effects of Mainstream Porn: Blog #1 Well, looks like I'm finally doing this! So darn excited! As many of you know, well, at least I hope as many of you know, I'm an all natural content creator (save for the days where I decide to wear makeup). I'm hairy, I'm average bodied, and I have one hell of a personality. One argument I often see with people who do not pay for their own porn, is what is the point in paying when you can get so much porn, made by famous porn actors, for free? I have a simple answer to that question: Authenticity. Ethics. Consent. Sexual Health. AUTHENTICITY: The issue with mainstream porn is that so much of it is faked. From the weird parodies that I know so many of you have probably watched (I know I have) to the brutal g@ngb@Ngs that always seem to be more than likely to kill someone than anything else, it is all scripted, filmed from multiple angles from different points of view, and has one thing that paid porn usually does not: a producer, and a director. Now, majority of porn producers in the industry are male. And unfortunately, not very well versed in how to be ethically producing porn, but I'll get onto that point in the next subtopic. Porn is never filmed in one fluid motion - it's always bundled together through a large amount of editing, and filmed sometimes over a period of days, much like a movie, I suppose you could say. Orgasms portrayed in porn, the female ones in majority, are all faked. The lack of authenticity in so much mainstream porn is what leads to confusion when y0ung people treat porn as a form of sex education - it leads to bad sex practises, unethical sex practises and overall very unhappy partners in bed. ETHICS: When producers of large companies produce porn, they never look at ethics. It is evident that mainstream porn has a HUGE effect because the very same effects it produces are seen to trickle down even into porn made on a small scale, like OnlyFans models and content creators like myself. When viewing content online we always, thanks to our morals, have to be asking ourselves what is happening, with whoeveer it is happening with, and whether what we are watching is safe, and sane. A very HUGE fetish that a lot of you may know of is the fetishisation of y0*ng girls. In fact, 'barely legal' and 't33n' are two of the highest trending categories on a variety of free sex sites. And mainstream porn feeds into the this absurd fetishisation, monetising off women being 'barely legal' and thus 'barely' able to consent. The fact that so many porn sites such as pornhub have also been known to monetise the ACTUAL sexual exploitation of minors is an entirely different topic altogether, but one that HAS to be talked about when making standing ground against people shaming paid porn. Without paying for your porn how do you know the people in it are enjoying themselves? How do you know they aren't being exploited? How do you know they aren't being r@p3d? CONSENT: My last point brings me onto my next subtitle, consent. All too often in hardcore BDSM free porn settings you see no mention of consent whatsoever. I know that if I was ever to take part in a hardcore BDSM sex tape, I would make sure that I had a snippet given to prove that consent was given before and after the act took place. It's a practise that I think definitely has to be made more common, and one that too few people talk about. It has been proven, countless times, that sex tapes have been uploaded without consent onto free porn sites, sexual exploitation has been monetised by free porn sites, and the actual abuse and t0rture of some women has been seen to have been floating around multiple paid porn sites. The question that arises in certain settings, especially in settings where r@p3 appears to be occuring is this: Is it a safe environment where two consenting adults are partaking in CNC? Or are you actually flicking the bean to someones genuine trauma? It's a question that I, myself, am not comfortable arising in the slightest. SEXUAL HEALTH: Perhaps one of the most important concepts to learn when you become sexually active is proper sexual health and hygiene. All too may times in porn, I see people fucking the girls ass, and then IMMEDIATELY going into her vagina. Or interchanging between the two. It's practises like this that people pick up when they use free porn as sex education, and it's practises like this that result in illnesses such as bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections. Condoms are also hardly ever seen in porn, with bar3back sex being rife, and although safe in certain circumstances, it produces this false idea that that is what should be considered to be the norm. Even in some BDSM videos I've seen, practises have just not been done safely whatsoever, and it leads to the question about whether the person actually consented, yet again. Not only that, but the lack of diversity seen in porn can lead to mental health issues such as body dysmorphia and low self esteem. This isn't even just on the side of the women but the MEN TOO! Seeing a lack of dad bods, a lack of penis variation, and a lack of general DIVERSITY in how beautiful humans can be, can be detrimental to the male performance and can lead to an even wider range of problems such as erectile dysfunction or issues with reaching climax. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this first blog as much as I did writing it! Stay tuned for the next one next week, I would love to start a discussion on this topic too - what do YOU think about mainstream porn?
