It invites me to learn. My work screams at me, 'Grow bigger!' and I remember there is power in simplicity. I spend a lot of time wandering, sipping slowly and wondering. I act when I am clear. In between actions, I am just being as present as possible with the fluctuations of emotions and thoughts, observations of my inner and outer environment. It's from the stillness that my movement emerges. It's from the silence that I sing. This is some of my best wisdom for artists and creative humans (which is all humans). Sit still until you're bursting with energy and ideas. If you're feeling blocked it's more likely that you're overloaded than empty. Empty yourself by removing all the distractions and clearing out the cobwebs in your own body and mind. Then fill up with fresh air and beauty. Your well will refill and your art will bubble over joyfully. You don't need to force art. Allow space for it and it will come. And yes, this means a lot of hours spend staring into space and doing what feels like nothing at first.
