I dropped the sheet on the naked mattress and walked straight over to my piano, switched on my microphone and started singing the lyrics flowing organically into my mind. Sometimes songs arrive like this; a quick birth into reality, delivered through me in one smooth flow, as a complete piece. A few hours later, late into the night, I had dozens of vocal takes and a basic beat/vibe. The next morning I got back to work building up percussion and mixing the song (I mix as I produce), playing with different chorus options and vocal chops. Yesterday, I blasted the song on my living room speakers and tested out which dance moves this song inspires. Then I rode on the back of a motorcycle with demo version of the song (version 40) playing in my airpods. Dreamy! I LOVE testing the audio on headphones while out in the world adventuring and moving. Out there, that's where I really hear how it sounds in real life and what I need to change when I get home. I woke up humming it this morning so eager to make progress on it, edit it down to be tighter and clearer. I've been recording little videos of myself as the song is developing so you can watch the creative process unfold. The working title is "All These Dreams" :) Stay tuned!
