Google "Internal Family Systems" to learn more. --- Creating songs at the piano and the microphone is one of the most effective ways to give my parts voice, especially my younger parts. -- Today, I'm allowing a part of me who is in her mid-twenties to take the spotlight and sing her feels around the rush of falling in love and she is longing for that thrill again. She is worried of losing love or not being desired anymore. Obviously, she is loveable and she just needs to be seen and heard so we can get her the help she needs. First we find parts and let them tell us everything they're feeling and then we show her how we can help bring her out of the past and into a more fulfilled present. -- Most of my songs are about love and freedom. I'm exploring how love evolves and feels different over years of a relationship. What does she really mean when she says "she wants to fall in love?" -- Instead of trying to write something perfectly inspiring and mature, I often let my younger parts just take the microphone and sing out all their youn g, cheesy, cringy, pain and fantasy. Once I have that down, then I can start sculpting the song into something more mature or enlightened. But step one of creativity is freedom of expression. Just let it flow. Embrace whatever comes out naturally as it is. Just like people.
