my doctor called me last night to inform me that I am in fact HSV+. 70% of the population has HSV1, however i have it on my genitals. i cannot begin to explain the amount of pain i have experienced the past 2 weeks. i couldn't walk for about 5 days and i was off work for 7 days. beside the physical pain, this has been extremely emotional for me. i struggle with my self worth, i feel like no one will ever love me and it is 1000x worse with this diagnosis. I don't want this to control me or make me feel less valuable, I want to own this and be a voice for those who are also HSV+. I feel like I am finally learning who I am. This will not define me, instead I will redefine it.
