Added 2022-10-02 19:44:19 +0000 UTChappy spooky szn y’all we were lucky to get some firsthand glimpses of the new remake of Interview with the Vampire: it was filmed outside the shop, and the set & costume teams came by, taking with them lots of our Victorian pieces and ephemera. the neighborhood was transformed nightly - entire facades were constructed over existing shops, the gas lamps were covered in black and green sheets (to hide them in post production) and the fog machines were set up on each corner while Model T cars were lined up. we’d also get these crazy notices every few days about coffins dropping from balconies and assuring us there’s “nothing to worry about.” it was pretty cool. in a serendipitous twist, we came into 1970s vampire capes and you bet I’m dressing up as a vampire a la “Dark Shadows.” (if you’re not familiar, it’s a really campy 70s tv show about vampires and other mythical creatures. Johnny Depp starred in a really fun movie remake a few years ago.) happy spooky szn 🧛🏻♀️♥️🎃
