This lingerie getup reminds me so much of a comic book super..

This lingerie getup reminds me so much of a comic book superhero villain that I went down a rabbit hole for this lesson to read about the history of DC and Marvel comics. It's hard to boil down nearly 200-years worth of origin story for comic books as a medium, but this one lesson stuck with me:

A guy named Martin Goodman launched a then-little-known-publication called "Timely Comics" in 1939. While publishing wasn't new to Goodman, comics were a new art form, as were the idea of superheros/villains. He published "Marvel Comics #1" the same year and it became hugely popular overnight.

Needing more hands on deck, he hired his wife's 16 year old cousin as an office assistant. That office assistant, Stanley Lieber, went on to help out with editing, writing, and predominant creative leader in American comics under his writing pseudonym, Stan Lee, creating characters like Spiderman, The X-Men, The Hulk, Black Widow, etc.
