There is a big culture difference between romances from the US. It rely alot on Japanese folklore. I mean the male lead is a tengu. It follows misao, the senka maiden, and her childh0od friend now protector and lover kyo. Kyo is a tengu and fought for the right to marry Misao, by becoming clan leader's heir. Now he must fight off other demons who want her. Oh also senka maiden is said to give prosperity to the clan she marries or you could devour her and get eternal y0uth. I read this book series a long time ago when I really should not have been reading books like this. So I may have some nostalgia tinted thoughts in it
