Added 2022-04-14 21:50:31 +0000 UTCI Remember (Cover, Damien Rice) During COVID I mostly stopped performing, as most stages had shut down. There wasn't much motivation to practice. I've literally forgotten the chords to most of my songs--and they'll all come back eventually, but derusting takes time. I've even had to re-blister my fingers (it's what happens when you first play a string instrument). The bars and stages are packed here. There's an excitement in the air to return to mostly-normal, and I feel it too. It's bittersweet because--living in a tourist town--our resident turnover rate is massive during normal times, and it has been catastrophic during the pandemic. This means lots of friends moving away and moving apart due to circumstance. There will always be new friends to make, but the communities I had two years ago are changed--and some of them are gone. This applies to all of us, I think. Nothing is permanent and we all know that... but I forget every time. Anyway. Here's a new-ish cover that I will refine before returning to the stage some time soon. If any of you have any song recommendations that I might want to learn, let me know in the comments?
