Added 2021-01-19 13:59:13 +0000 UTCVIRTUAL PHOTOSHOOT As I write this I’m planning to take part in my first virtual photoshoot. I’m so excited to try something new. I’ve spent the last 10 months creating all by myself and I’ve used this experience to explore my process as a model, performer, and visual artist. This has been satisfying. However, I so miss collaborating with other performers, photographers and videographers. When my friend Andrea posted in her professional photography Patreon that she was offering virtual shoots I jumped at hiring for this service. She has shot me many times over the years for boudoir, glamor and burlesque projects but it has been a few years since our last project. We were both excited to work together once again. Last week we had a conversation over Zoom. First, we discussed my hopes for the experience and the photos. I wanted something sensual and glamorous but minimalist that I would not be able to do on my own. We walked around the apartment I share with my elderly mother (so besides my bedroom the decor isn’t really to my taste) discussed some options for lighting and angles. I was excited for her to use my space differently than I do. Not only for this project but to help me to see my space through different eyes. Lastly we went through my lingerie to see what interesting ways we could use what I already own. This is something special Andrea brings to her work— innovative ways to use simple items of clothing and fabric and transform them into gorgeous fashion.
