I just discovered the word FREEMIUM. Well, sort of. I’ve come across it before but I never gave it much thought until today. Reading about it got me to thinking about how the concept applies to my current offerings. All thanks to a Twitter discussion about pricing by independent adult creators. Freemium is a portmanteau of the words "free" and "premium", is a pricing strategy by which a basic product or service is provided free of charge, but money (a premium) is charged for additional features, services, or virtual (online) or physical (offline) goods that expand the functionality of the free version of the software. - Wikipedia MY FREEMIUM AND PREMIUM SELECTIONS After about 9-months of trial and error with various fan sites, tube sites and clip stores on January 1st I decided to narrow my focus to my blog and the creation of a new version of my VIP members-area. There has been a great demand for my vintage content (especially threesomes and party pics). Given new rules and regulations about uploading model IDs to fan sites I decided it made the most sense to keep the classic content and the IDs where they have lived since the 2000s. I also decided to save my fresh new 2021 content for the VIP members-area as part of their subscription. The VIP area, surprise surprise, is my premium offering. While the VIP area was being built I’ve been posting my clips of my 2021 content to my $10 subscription at a different fan site. I’m not sure if I will maintain the same presence there once my VIP area is filled with all of my new content. I’m still pondering that. MY BLOG AND ONLY FANS ARE FREEMIUM OFFERINGS With the premium side of things taken care of, I still wanted to have a presence at the fan sites like Only Fans. I thought it would be generous and meaningful having them be a free to follow space that mirrors my blog. I would get to take advantage of the feed aspect of the fan site and my content could be enjoyed as people scroll through their favourites while also giving fans the option to purchase pay per view videos if they are enticed to do so. The freemium way of things is something I’ve enjoyed as a client for the services and products by people I follow. This would be in the world of skincare, fashion, hairstyling as well as organization and business strategies. Having experienced this as a customer I think it fits quite well to my own business goals as an adult content creator and virtual date. I give something of value for free with the hope/expectation that some people will pay for more features such as full length videos, sexting and custom videos. The payment is for my heightened attention, presence and engagement. Something for everyone. IS TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM CONSIDERED FREEMIUM? My Twitter is similar to my official freemium content in that I tweet quality tweets in hope of directing people to my paid content and services. I give a lot of thought to what I share on Twitter and hope that my feed is one that is entertaining and informative and will encourage people to become paying fans of my work. I so wish that from time to time people would tip as a show of appreciation for my time, energy, expertise and experience. If only 100 of my 4000 Twitter followers tipped $1 per month that would be amazing. That amount might not make a big difference to some folks but it would make a big difference to my bottom line.
