Not gonna lie, my players were clever last game and talked (well, a great deception roll) their way past a weeping treant guardian who did NOT want any fighting in his protected forest. Now that they are in the forest, the first fight that breaks out is going to be not only whatever that fight is, but soon after fighting the treants - since they promised they wouldn't disturb the forest. I really hope it isn't going to be a TPK, but the party is level 10 and they'd be fighting the whole clan of treants, not just one... it's not looking good for them 🥶 Should I start the session by asking them to start thinking of alternative characters for the campaign? 😅
