how many of you learned about the black panther party as this nebulous “not great but fighting against racism sort of” concept? if we look through today’s lens, where we have more language to describe anarchist and antifascist ideals, the BPP was truly both mutual aid and a large affinity group. both of those constructs strive to work outside of the state to provide for each other and use agreed upon means to resist oppression. the famous example is that BPP had free breakfasts regularly; no strings attached, they just fed people. they also provided security for Black children who were in danger, whether that be from the police, white supremacists, etc. the moral is a few fold: a) stop pathologizing the BPP. they had a larger impact on the civil rights movement than many of the touted “peaceful” leaders we learn about as the good guys today. (see narrative: “lincoln freed the slaves, and things were good, then bad for a while until MLK came to peacefully solve racism!”) This shit is blatant propaganda. b) we only resist the state by removing dependence upon it. we keep each other safe. ps- here’s a preview of a new shoot. keep your eye out for some pussy shots and dirrrrtyy vids soon 😈👀
