I never thought much of Misato when I watched Evangelion as a kid, but now she's actually my favorite character in the show. I didn't think much of her back then, but now I really have an appreciation and admiration for a character like that - a character that lives life lightly, but doesn't exist purely for comic relief. I also love how even though she's a mess, she's still extremely capable when she works - her willpower is really quite admirable now that I'm watching the show again as an adult. 😉
