If some 120 years old mechanic tells you opposite, tell him that some random chicken from Internet said otherwise. Soldering is not robot friendly, expensive and outlives the car. Something car manufacturers hate. And naive, underpaid mechanics adopted it for century. Now you know. Solder every wire you care about on your project car.
