My plan was 2 work for company for 1,2 year gaining experience before purchasing my own tractor & trailer. I even stop smoking 🍃💨 taking this very serious. I applied for 2 different company & had interviews. I do have felonies. 10+ years ago & was honest letting both companies know I’ve learn/grown since then. I’m ready to work & start a career in this industry. I felt things went good. Few days later, from both companies, I was turned down for the position. I was upset thinking a white man will never give a brother like me a chance with a background but then again why should they. I was down for a bit. Talking with other truckers & given me the idea to go into business for myself. Instead of starting off with a class A tractor & trailer, I’ll purchase a class B - 26ft Box Truck vehicle & work as owner operator. I’m already half way threw process of getting everything rolling. I Plan on Starting off with Amazon relay freight & working with dispatchers for more work. I’ll gamble on myself any day knowing I can & will make it happen.
